I sit down clumsily, collecting my thoughts.

“Right. Warm in Miami,” I confirm. “I suppose so. Never been there.”

“Really?” he asks, buckling his belt then nodding hello to Window Guy on the other side of him.

“Yep,” I reply. “It’s my first time…” I almost tell him I’m new to air travel, but think better of it. “... in Florida.”

“Florida is a nice place,” he says. “Sparkling water, wide sandy beaches, beautiful people. You’ll fit right in.”

Is he flirting with me? I think so. Holy shit. Also, I think I detect a hint of a Massachusetts accent. So many other dreamy guys are from Massachusetts: John Krasinski, Chris Evans, Matt Damon, Mark and Donnie Whalberg, Ben Affleck, Matt LeBlanc… just to name a few. But that’s beside the point.

I laugh, not sure if it seems forced. Hopefully not. “That’s sweet,” I say. “Sounds lovely.”

He reaches his hand sideways to shake mine. “Hank Brawn. Pleased to meet you.”

“Clara Darling. Same.”

Hank chuckles. “Well, aren’t we just a couple of fairy tale characters waiting to happen?”

“How so?” I ask, already knowing the answer.

I get plenty of comments about my name. I know the routine.

“Me, the hunk with brains and brawn, and you, my darling.”

“Oh, really?” I say, a smile tugging at my lips.

“Oh, yeah,” he confirms, pleased with himself.

Window Guy laughs, egging Hunk-- I mean Hank-- on.
